What are oxygen absorbers?
oxygen absorbers or oxygen scavengers are not a food additive .They are added to enclosed packaging to help remove or decrease the level of oxygen in the package. Thus to help maintain the food safety and extend the shelf life.
In recent years, with the improvements in the food industry and the packaging material, oxygen absorbers are more and more popular used and cover a wide array of applications, like Western-style cakes, Mid-Autumn Festival moon cake, poultry meat, roasted seeds and nuts, dry foods etc.
